Why are you supporting Prostate Cancer UK?
Prostate cancer affects around 1 in 8 men in the UK, and the risk doubles for black men. With a crowd of 28,000 men at every Leeds United home game, over 3,500 of them will experience prostate cancer in their lifetime. Prostate Cancer UK funds vital research, provides support for those affected, and works to improve early diagnosis and treatment. Your support at the Leeds Creator Cup will help make a difference.
Prostate Cancer UK also has a further additional draw as the lead organiser, Joe Blackburn, has a close personal connection. At his grandad’s funeral, Joe noticed that there was a collection dish for the charity. It wasn’t prostate cancer that took him, rather prostate cancer was something that he overcame with the help of Prostate Cancer UK.
By planning this event in aid of Prostate Cancer UK, participants are choosing to remember their loved ones by their victories and their strongest moments – all whilst helping others to win their own battles.
I can't make the event, how can I support you?
You can donate directly at the event or on our donation page. Every contribution helps Prostate Cancer UK continue their lifesaving work.
You can also watch the event on the “Joe Blackburn” YouTube channel, as all advertising revenue and donations from the stream are going to Prostate Cancer UK.
What happens if it rains?
The match will go ahead rain or shine – so dress accordingly and bring a waterproof if needed!
